Filipino youth extended their support to the victims of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to express solidarity with Palestine through a student-led campaign entitled Voice for Palestine.<\/p>\n

It was organized under the guidance of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Center for Social Action (CSA) in time for the International Day of Families and the International Day of Living Together in Peace.<\/p>\n

To provide a comprehensive understanding of the history and realities of the war in Gaza, the volunteers mounted an exhibition of photographs and narratives that inform of the unsung stories of the afflicted, especially women and mothers within the area. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It likewise detailed how life was before the genocide, and highlighted the significant impact of the issue on the education and future of the children. <\/p>\n

Amid the diverse accounts of struggles, a roundtable discussion was held to amplify the tales of persistence and bravery of the Filipino-Palestinian refugee families, who have since found homes in the Philippines. <\/p>\n

The event also welcomed and provided an avenue for Little Gaza\u2019s Kitchen, a Quezon City-based home-cooked meals service founded by the Moro-Palestinians Cooperation Team together with the refugees and their families. They aim to support their new beginnings in the Philippines by bringing the culinary taste of Gaza to Metro Manila. <\/p>\n

Young talents from the Benilde Dance Program showcased a heartwarming performance of Golden Hour by JVKE. The piece, which was choreographed by Benilde Dance mentor Coach Mycs Villoso, reflected on the hopeful outcomes of the trying times.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Benildeans, we are called upon to act and be in solidarity with people and communities in creating a world that is just, humane, peaceful, and free from violence,\u201d the volunteers shared. <\/p>\n

Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life (LMSL) Nicky Templo Perez, emphasized the importance of using one\u2019s freedom to take a stand for those who cannot speak of their experiences. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is where our responsibility comes in as Benildeans and Filipinos who have the right\u2014and who are still able to exercise our rights\u2014to have our voices heard,\u201d she started. <\/p>\n

She likewise hoped that the Voice for Palestine had served as an inspiration to the young generation.<\/p>\n

\u201cUse your voices to fight for social and human rights, even if the adults in the communities will sometimes react,\u201d she added. \u201cEvery action is necessary and will be such a big help.\u201d<\/p>\n
