Funding will support the charity Reach Out and Feed Philippines in acquiring mobile kitchens and strengthening food programs for the community\"\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Filipino band NOBITA\u00a0performed their favourite hits for the charity at a special live performance<\/em><\/p>\n

Manila, PHILIPPINES \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Sony Music Entertainment Philippines and popular band NOBITA have partnered with Reach Out and Feed Philippines to support local communities impacted by hunger this holiday season.<\/p>\n

This comes as part of Sony Music Group\u2019s global \u2018Season of Giving\u2019 campaign, where the company\u00a0and\u00a0its artists\u00a0are\u00a0giving back to\u00a0every local community in which\u00a0Sony Music Group (SMG)\u00a0operates.\u00a0Across the world, SMG is\u00a0supporting global organizations dedicated to providing aid for those facing food insecurity, homelessness and\u00a0refugee support, as well as music industry relief and educational programs for communities\u00a0impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

This also follows the support provided through the\u00a0Sony Music Group\u2019s Global Social Justice Fund<\/a>, to move the needle in broadening opportunities for underserved communities worldwide. In October, the company\u00a0partnered with SPARK! Philippines<\/a>\u00a0to champion young women\u2019s rights through music and film.<\/p>\n

Beginning in the month of November,\u00a0the Season of Giving program saw\u00a0SMG committing\u00a0sizeable amounts in\u00a0each\u00a0geography\u00a0where the Company conducts business:\u00a0Africa, Asia, Australia\/New Zealand, Canada, Continental Europe, Latin\u00a0America, United Kingdom, and the United States.<\/p>\n

In the Philippines, non-profit organization Reach Out and Feed Philippines Inc., which provides food aid to children who have little or no access to nutritious food, had its outreach efforts hindered by the COVID-19 pandemic and the typhoons that struck the Philippines over the past two years. With this funding, Reach Out and Feed Philippines Inc. will be acquiring mobile kitchens that can provide meals to vulnerable communities where needed, reaching more children and their families through the organization\u2019s ongoing feeding and nourishment programs.<\/p>\n

Anna Pauline Castro, Executive Director of\u00a0Reach Out and Feed Philippines Inc., said, \u201cThe funding from Sony Music Group will be a great help in pushing forward with our school and community outreach programs. We expect these mobile kitchens to reach 1,000 children and their households on ongoing feeding programs, as well as families affected by the pandemic and recent typhoons, to provide them with nutritious meals.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately, we hope that this will bring us closer to realizing our vision of seeing every Filipino child healthy, nourished, and empowered to reach their maximum potential for growth and learning.\u201d\"\"<\/p>\n

As a band that actively gives back to society,\u00a0NOBITA also partnered with Reach Out and Feed Philippines Inc. to\u00a0support\u00a0outreach efforts and\u00a0put on an intimate concert for some of the children who are beneficiaries of the organization.<\/p>\n

NOBITA\u00a0<\/strong>said, \u201cIt means a lot to be part of a label that strives to make a positive impact on society\u00a0by reaching out to underserved communities. We are\u00a0truly glad to have had the chance to spend time volunteering with Reach Out and Feed Philippines\u00a0\u2013 seeing smiles\u00a0from\u00a0children and families\u00a0whilst\u00a0connecting with them through music was an unforgettable experience for us.\u201d\"\"<\/p>\n

In speaking of the\u00a0seasonal initiative, Towalame Austin, Executive Vice President, Philanthropy and Social Impact, Sony Music Group, said, \u201cGlobally, SMG is committed to supporting local communities throughout the year. For the holiday season, we wanted to bring extra support and relief aid to those in need and dedicate our efforts to more than three million people worldwide. In addition to NOBITA, notable artists and songwriters who volunteered with partner organizations in their communities during a series of in-person events include India Shawn (Epic Records), Tyler Shaw (SME Canada), Kobie Dee (SMP Australia), Tom Wilson (SMP Canada)\u00a0\u2013 who volunteered with partner organizations in their own communities during a series of in-person events.<\/p>\n

This campaign represents the Company\u2019s ongoing philanthropic commitment to forge partnerships and support communities that\u00a0need it most, inside and outside the music industry.
