{"id":1479,"date":"2021-02-27T17:57:24","date_gmt":"2021-02-27T09:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gqq.gfl.temporary.site\/website_b2c438e3\/?p=1479"},"modified":"2021-02-27T17:57:24","modified_gmt":"2021-02-27T09:57:24","slug":"katitikan-literary-journals-new-issue-is-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dynamic-silver-sheep.82-197-71-20.cpanel.site\/?p=1479","title":{"rendered":"Katitikan Literary Journal&#8217;s New Issue is Released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Katitikan Literary Journal\u2019s new issue reimagines the pandemic Philippines<br \/>\nKatitikan, an online literary journal of the Philippine South, released its third issue with the theme (Re)Imaginations last February 14, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The literary journal features literary works of 21st century Filipino writers from different parts of the country in English, Filipino, Cebuano, and Waray languages.<br \/>\n\u201cAlmost a year has passed now since we started living this life in pandemic limbo,\u201d said Sigrid Gayangos, Katitikan editor, in the journal\u2019s introduction \u201cWhat Comes Next\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cUnprecedented is a word that has been thrown around, just as metaphors comparing the virus to a war waged by an invisible enemy have become ubiquitous,\u201d said Gayangos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough language, we are conditioned to think of militarism as positive and necessary in combating this crisis\u2014unconsciously consenting to draconian security measures because they are done under the name of public health,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the notable writers that contributed their literary works to this issue include Erika Carreon, R.B Abiva, Ben Aguilar, Mirick Paala, Hezron Pios, Cesar Miguel Esca\u00f1o, and Reil Obinque.<\/p>\n<p>This third issue of Katitikan: (Re) Imaginations contains 36 literary works from 26 Filipino writers and can be openly accessed here: https:\/\/katitikan.com\/issue-3\/.<\/p>\n<p>The call for submissions for its first special issue on LGBTQ will be this March 2021.<br \/>\nKatitikan\u2019s previous releases include the maiden issue published last June 2019 and Places and Spaces published last February 2020<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for visiting my site and reading my article.
